SPS Families and Staff

Last night was a rollercoaster of emotions for me as I learned about the vote to approve the override and the tragic events that occurred yesterday at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee.

We want to assure you that keeping our students and staff safe is our top priority. We continue to embed safety training for staff and students into our routines. Staff are working diligently to build relationships with students so that they can identify and address any needs or concerns. Sudbury also is supported by the three School Resource Officers that work in SPS and LSRHS.

We encourage students to speak with one of our counselors or another trusted adult if they need assistance in processing the news. Families can also access resources that the SPS Mental Health team has curated.

We are grateful to have tremendous support from the Sudbury community, as evidenced by the override passage last night. The budget includes funding for academic skill building and increased positions for mental and behavioral health. Thank you for your partnership.
