November 10, 2022 // Fall Communication
Dear SPS Families,
Tomorrow we celebrate our Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, honoring their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. In our schools, students have enjoyed visits from Veterans, written letters, and participated in community celebrations. Veteran’s Day is a national holiday and, consequently, we will not be in session so that families can pay their respects as they see fit.
A couple of updates:
-
Public school districts throughout the Commonwealth will be making COVID-19 testing kits available to families and staff in advance of the Thanksgiving and Winter recesses. We will provide two test kits for each student (each kit contains 2 tests). Test kits will be sent home in backpacks the week of November 21st. Staff may pick up test kits at their building’s front office.

I wanted to share a short video regarding Sudbury’s Social Studies curriculum. Sudbury has implemented new curricular units aligned with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education standards and practices for Social Studies, including the grade eight Civic Action Project and Washington DC trip and elementary units.
Finally, I want to acknowledge that Wednesday afternoons in November are release days reserved for family conferences. This dedicated time for families to connect with their children’s teachers is so important. We encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity.
Warm regards,
Brad Crozier, Superintendent
