May 12, 2022 // Superintendent's Update

Dear SPS Families,

I am excited about the weather forecast for the next few days. I hope you can spend time outside enjoying the sun. The nice weather has increased activities, and, as such, we see a significant increase in COVID numbers. This week SPS has recorded over 100 COVID cases, and I anticipate more to come today. More information and resources can be found on the SPS COVID Hub.

I strongly encourage staff and students to wear masks to curb the spread in school. We will continue to review the trends and possibly implement face coverings by class, grade, or team. The weather change will also allow an opportunity to go outside for classroom activities.

Please continue participating in at-home and pooled testing as these are tools to distinguish allergy and cold symptoms from COVID. You can still sign-up your students by using this link.

May and June are packed with tons of activities, both in and outside of school. Voluntary masking for a short time may help to ensure that we can participate in the activities we all have been looking forward to enjoying.

Regards,

Brad Crozier, Superintendent
