Sudbury School Committee -- Who We Are
The Sudbury School Committee consists of five publicly elected members. The Committee’s primary responsibilities are establishing and reviewing policies of the District, approving and monitoring the school budget, and oversight of the Superintendent. School Committee meetings typically occur twice a month on Mondays. Meetings are broadcast live on Sudbury TV, may be streamed, and may be watched at any time On Demand at SudburyTV.org.
Approved its School Committee Handbook. The School Committee Handbook serves as a resource for Committee members, providing information and guidance regarding the Committee’s role and processes.
The Committee reminds our community that there will be a change in school start time at the beginning of the 2020-21 academic year.
In the coming weeks, the Committee will continue to work collaboratively with SPS Administration regarding issues surrounding COVID-19 and planning for the re-opening of SPS schools. COVID-19 resources are available here.
In June, the Committee will conduct its annual review of the Superintendent pursuant to the requirements of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The Committee will set and approve Superintendent’s Goals for the FY21 school year.
In the summer, the Committee will conduct its annual retreat. During the retreat Committee members will discuss goals for the coming academic year and participate in professional development.
Sudbury Town Meeting is scheduled to occur on September 18, 2020. At that time, the Town will vote on the SPS Budget.
