June 10, 2020 // Superintendent's Update

Dear SPS Families,

It is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of the school year.  Days and weeks are hard to mark without the usual rituals and routines.  We mourn the loss of closing ceremonies and while at the same time celebrating our students as they move on to new opportunities and challenges.  We mourn and celebrate within the local and national contexts of outrage at acts of violence against persons of color.

The purpose of this communication is to share our preliminary Reopening Plan, including inviting family feedback and soliciting participation in the Superintendent’s Reopening Task Force.

  • Reopening Message (a screencast)
  • Family Feedback Survey
  • Application to serve on Superintendent’s Reopening Taskforce

We look forward to celebrating our rising fifth and eighth-graders with beep-outs and encourage families to reference building communications regarding materials exchanges.

Please reach out to your building administrator or any member of the district team with questions or concerns and thank you for your support and patience as we reimagine teaching and learning.  As a closing thought, I offer the virtual middle school chorus concert.  Your children are a gift and the inspiration we draw upon to persevere through these trying times.

Sincerely,

Brad Crozier,

Superintendent
