November 21, 2019 // School Committee Budget Process Letter
Dear Sudbury Community:
The Administration and the Sudbury School Committee are actively engaged in the budget process for the 2020-2021 academic year. We would like to share some key dates in the budget process with you. During Budget Review meetings the Administration and the School Committee engage in discussion regarding the proposed budget. The Budget Hearing is mandated by law and must occur at a particular time in the budget process. It is an opportunity for the community to participate in the budget process, attend the Hearing and provide feedback regarding the proposed budget.
December 2 Regular School Committee meeting Review the Superintendent’s proposed draft line item budget Goodnow Library 7:00 p.m.
December 9 Finance Committee meeting The Administration will present budget drivers. Flynn Building 7:00 p.m.
December 12 School Committee Budget Review The School Committee will provide feedback regarding the proposed budget Goodnow Library 7:00 p.m.
December 16 Regular School Committee Meeting Continued budget discussions Goodnow Library 7:00 p.m.
December 18 Budget Hearing Opportunity for community to provide feedback Goodnow Library 7:00 p.m.
January 6 Regular School Committee Meeting The School Committee will take a vote on the budget Goodnow Library 7:00 p.m.
January 30 Finance Committee Budget Hearing Venue and time TBD
Review and approval of the budget is one of the most important roles of the School Committee. We hope you will engage and participate in this process with us. As always, please do not hesitate to contact your School Committee at any time at School-Committee@sudbury.k12.ma.us
