September 5, 2019 // Superintendent's Day 5 Letter
Dear Parents of Sudbury,
Today we marked the 5th day of school and I want to thank everyone for a very smooth start to the school year. I’ve had the joy of observing or helping at each school’s student arrivals and dismissals, visiting classrooms, and even partook in a bus ride on the first day of school. It was inspiring to see the staff welcome their new classes of eager students with enthusiasm and purpose for the year. Many thanks to our dedicated parent volunteers who assisted with the planning and execution of events welcoming families back to school. As we gain our stride, we will refine the bus routes, deeply engage in learning, and together get accustomed to our daily routines.
Like Haynes last year, we opened the new ADA compliant playground at Noyes yesterday, as we continue our four-year plan of building new structures at each elementary school.
It would be my pleasure to meet you at the Open House for your child’s school. The full Open House schedule is located below, and I would also like to invite you to drop-in for a new event on our calendar: the Superintendent-Parent Information Exchange, or PIE for short. PIE is an opportunity to have a discussion about the issues that matter most to you as parents in Sudbury Public Schools, such as new school start times for the 2020-21 school year, the proposed budget, and more. These meetings will be held in the Superintendent’s Conference Room in the Fairbanks Building on October 1st at 9:15 AM, December 5th at 5:00 PM, January 16th at 9:15 AM, and March 19th at 5:00 PM.
