August 22, 2019 // Superintendent's Welcome
End of Summer Greetings!
I wanted to welcome you to the new school year that will start next week, on Wednesday, August 28. Wednesday and Thursday will be full school days. As a reminder, though, there will be no school on Friday, August 30th, or Monday, September 2nd.
We have been working hard over the summer to prepare for the return of our students. The facilities staff and the custodians have done a great job to restore and improve our buildings in anticipation of the happy moment when students will once again fill the halls. Members of the teaching staff have engaged in professional development to hone their skills and add new dimensions to the curriculum. We are ready!
“Back to School” packets are now available in the ASPEN Family Portal. Please log-in and complete these forms before the start of school as the packet contains important transportation and emergency information. Detailed directions can be found on the district’s new website by clicking on this link.
Bus passes for Curtis and the elementary students were mailed out today. No student will be refused a ride if they do not have their passes in the first two weeks of school The bus routes are posted on the SPS website, with approximate pick-up times listed. Please note that routes are often longer at the start of the school year as everyone is adjusting to their new routines.
On behalf of myself and the Staff of SPS, I want to welcome you to another exciting school year!
Sincerely,
Brad Crozier
Superintendent
