Children are required to be at bus stops 10 minutes before scheduled pick-up times. Parents of kindergartners and first graders are required to be at bus stops when buses pick up and drop off those younger students.
Sudbury Public Schools complies with the laws of the Commonwealth, including the regulations of the Registry of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Education relative to transportation of pupils. The purpose of the transportation system is to aid students in getting to and from school in a safe, efficient, and economical manner.

School Transportation Fees for Sudbury Resident Students for the 2021-2022 School Year
Sudbury Public School students in K-6 who live LESS than 2 miles from school and all 7-8th grade students are required to pay a fee to ride the school bus. Discounted fees are offered to families who will have more than one student purchasing transportation:
- First Child: $350
- Family Cap: $635
- Late Fee: $75
Payment can be submitted via a check payable to the TOWN OF SUDBURY and mailed to SPS Transportation Department, 40 Fairbank Road, Sudbury, MA 01776.
Reduced or waived fees will be considered for eligible families. Applications are available from the Business Office or a Financial Assistance Application.
