Are You Concerned About Your Child's Development?
If you have concerns about your child's development you should contact Anh Le, Early Childhood Team Chair, at email@example.com or (978) 443-1085 x6006 to discuss your concerns and to determine how to proceed. The preschool offers developmental screenings for community members every few weeks. After an initial discussion with Anh Le, you will be scheduled to come in for a screening appointment with your child. In addition, a family may request for a child may be observed in his/her educational setting, and our early childhood team consults and collaborates to determine the next steps. In some cases a child may be referred for a formal evaluation through the Sudbury Public Schools in order to determine eligibility of special education services.
Is Your Child Receiving Early Intervention Services?
If your child is receiving Early Intervention Services, your service coordinator will assist you in compiling a referral packet for your child. Once this packet is received by the Sudbury Public Schools you will receive a letter confirming receipt of the referral packet. A preschool coordinator will attempt to contact you three months before your child's third birthday to discuss appropriate evaluations and the evaluation process in order to ensure a smooth transition of services prior to your child turning three. This time will also ensure that Sudbury gains an accurate, developmental picture of your child in order to maintain the best services and program opportunities.
