Special Education

Specific programs in Sudbury include:

• Integrated Preschool Programs serve children with disabilities ages 3-5. Programs are available at Noyes and Haynes. This program also serves non-disabled preschool children, who pay tuition to attend.
• The Partner Program is a district-wide program that provides an intensive ABA-based program for children with a diagnosis of Autism.
• Itinerant therapy and services are provided to preschool students in the areas of occupational therapy, physical therapy and/or speech. Such services are also available to Sudbury students who attend private schools.
• Learning Centers/ Skills Centers are found at each elementary school and at Curtis for students with mild to moderate disabilities; children are primarily educated in general education classroom with “back up”  and/or specific skill development in the learning center as needed; special  educators work within general education classroom and/or in the learning center with individuals and small groups of students.
• ACCESS Program is a district-wide program for students with social/emotional disabilities.
• Foundations Program is a district-wide program for students with developmental delays and Autism.
• Language Learning Disability Program is a district-wide program for students with significant language-based disabilities.
• LEAP (Language-Enriched Alternative Program) is available to middle school students who present with an array of complex disabilities and learning challenges and requires that much of the students’  programming be provided outside the general education classroom.
