Pre-pay into students' food accounts using MyNutrikids.com:

Signing Up for Online Pre-payment
The Sudbury Public Schools Food Service Department is excited to provide parents with a convenient, easy and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child's school meal account at any time. This service also provides parents with the ability to view your child's account balance through a web site called MyNutrikids.com. By having money in each child's account prior to entering the cafeteria, we find the lunch lines move along much faster so your child has more time to eat and be with friends.
Also, parents will have the ability to print out a copy of your child's eating history report. This report will show you all the dates and times on which your child has purchased a breakfast and or lunch within the past thirty days.
These new services will be available October 3, 2007.
To access these services:
- You first need to email me (Rita_Skog@sudbury.k12.ma.us) for your child's ID number and PIN if you don't already have it.
- Then go to the SPS district web site at http://www.sudbury.k12.ma.us.
- Click on the Food Services link.
- Click on the MyNutrikids.com link. On this site you will create your account and add money to your child's school meal account. All you need is your child's name, student ID number and school ZIP code.
Things to know:
If you have more than one child in the District you can handle all online prepayments from the same online account.
In order to use the online prepayment service, a small convenience fee for each transaction will be assessed to cover the bank fees. The convenience fee is $1.75 per deposit transaction. Parents placing money into multiple meal accounts will only be assessed the $1.75 fee once per deposit transaction. The Sudbury School District does not profit from the use of this site.
If you choose not to take advantage of the online prepayment service you may continue to make advance payments via check, which should be made payable to the Sudbury School District. Please write your child's full name on the check.

UPDATE: POS System for Food Services
To: Parents/Guardian
From: Rita Skog
Date:10/2/2007
The new computerized Point of Sale payment system for all school meals has arrived . We are in the process of passing out pin numbers to all student via homeroom teachers. The first few days the lunch lines may be slower, but as the students familiarize themselves with the system, the lines should move much quicker than before. Breakfast will be included on the same system. Every student will have their own personal lunchroom account. Students can access their accounts using the PIN pads located at every register. If they forget their number, we can access their account through the register using their name. It is recommended that all students learn their PIN as lunch lines will move faster.
We encourage parents to deposit money into students' accounts, although they may still pay cash. Monies paid into a student account can only be used for the purchase of breakfast or lunch. This way, parents are assured that their money is being used to purchase only lunch or breakfast. All à la carte snack items must be paid for with cash. The system will allow students to charge only if there is money in their account. Paypal will be up and running very shortly. This will allow parents to pay by credit card. More information will follow.
When sending in money by check or cash, please include the student's PIN # or student name on the check on the check or envelope so it is deposited into the correct account.
If your child qualifies for free or reduced prices for breakfast or lunch, this information is securely contained in the system and the meals will be processed the same way as other students. There is no need to be concerned about a potentially uncomfortable situation for any student; this information is all kept private.
If you are concerned about a food allergy with your child, please give the cafeteria this information, When we are informed about a food allergy, a warning will appear on the cashier's screen so that the cafeteria staff member can quickly review the items on your child's meal tray.
New POS System for Food Services

Date: 8/7/2007
Sudbury Public Schools is currently setting up a new computerized Point of Sale payment system for all school meals purchased in the district cafeterias. The first day of service for this new system is planned for September 25, 2007. I would like to take the time to introduce this system and the upcoming services that will be provided. The first few days the lunch lines may be slower, but as the students familiarize themselves with the system, the lines should move much quicker than before. Breakfast will be included on the same system.
Every student will have their own personal lunchroom account. Students can access their accounts using the PIN pads located at every register. PIN numbers will be sent home during the first few weeks of school. If they forget them, we can access the numbers through the register. It is recommended that all students learn their PIN, as lunch lines will move faster.
We encourage parents to deposit money into students' accounts, although they may still pay cash. Monies paid into a student account can only be used for the purchase of regular and alternate meals. This way, parents are assured that their money is being used to purchase only lunch or breakfast. All à la carte snack items must be paid for with cash. The system will allow students to charge only if there is money in their account.
When sending in money by check or cash, please include the student's PIN on the check or envelope so it is deposited into the correct account.

If you are concerned about a food allergy with your child, please give the cafeteria this information, When we are informed about a food allergy, a warning will appear on the cashier's screen so that the cafeteria staff member can quickly review the items on your child's meal tray.
During September, please only make pre-payments for one week's worth of lunches at a time. Starting in October, we will be introducing some new and exciting methods for making monthly or quarterly payments online.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we implement this new food services point of sale system.
